Bracted flowering branchlets are somewhat similar to those of dangleberry (G. frondosa), but leaves are generally smaller, thicker, each with a distinctive sharp point (mucro) at the summit. Also, we found dwarf huckleberry in a much wetter habitat than that of dangleberry or huckleberry (G. baccata).
