First bloom seen in spring 2010 (spring came unusually early). Differently from Smilacina, as well as the majority of Liliaceae
family members, there are only 2 petals and 2 sepals in the flower of Maianthemum, and ovary is only 2-locular (in the rest
of the family, the key number is 3).
