A tiny pond with spatterdock. The upright leaves resemble a southern species N. advena, whose presence in Massachusetts is confirmed in the Flora of the Northeast by Magee & Ahles (1999: as N. lutea ssp. advena) , though according to the latest treatment of Nuphar by Padgett (2007), this species does not reach our state.
